Yesterday was a very newsworthy day: I bought a really good curling iron.
What, you don't get the importance? Then you've never used a tool of such brilliance.
First, the curling iron. I went from the typical Conair drugstore variety to the Helen of Troy Hot Tools Ceramic Titanium Jumbo 1" Curling Iron. It was about $44 at Beauty First, but I had a $10 coupon, making the purchase that much sweeter. I sped home and plugged that baby in, cheering it on as it heated up. Then, I curled. And I curled and I curled and I curled, until I couldn't curl anymore. It was dazzling. It brought me to tears. For a brief moment in time, I was one with the curling iron.
You may be wondering, does it really make a difference to have a top-notch styling tool? To that, I can only answer, Oh yes. Let me explain it this way: It's like having started every morning in a tattered nightgown, heating instant coffee and chewing charred toast, then one day, sailing down the stairs wrapped in a plush spa robe, the butler handing over a steaming cup of gourmet roast, and then stepping into the kitchen, where the staff has outdone themselves with a delectable breakfast spread of fresh fruits, chocolate chip pancakes, bacon AND sausage, and of course, muffins. Now do you get it? Good, I need to eat.
