Bowl Full of Belly

I don't know who it was, but just a couple of weeks ago, one of my friends felt the need to tell me all about KFC's "Bowl", which is mashed potatoes, corn and pieces of chicken, all mixed together.

Oh my God, that is the best idea. Ever.

When I was little (and possibly still today), any time mashed potatoes were (are) on the menu, you could be sure I was cutting up my meat and placing it carefully all around the mashed goodness, making sure not to leave any part of the potato uncovered. Having corn to sprinkle on top of it all? Glorious.

For two weeks now, I've been thinking about this Bowl. It hasn't been interfering with my work or sleep, but somewhere in the back of my mind, the Bowl has been waiting for me. Needless to say, as the KFC sign came into sight while Frank and I were driving up to Traverse City earlier this week, there was no doubt we were stopping.

It was everything I hoped for and more. I don't know whether to thank my friend, whoever she is, or thrash her violently.
